About Shane Stenhouse

Shane gained his Equine Dentistry qualifications at the Academy of Equine Dentistry in Idaho, USA, a recognised leader in equine dentistry practice. Shane’s association with the Academy helps to keep him up to date with new equine dentistry techniques & practices – provides him with access to the pool of professional specialised equine dental instructors & vets who are committed to sharing their knowledge & skills concerning equine dental equilibration.

Shane commenced his Equine Dentistry business in 2006. The business has an established client base covering a vast range of horses used for varying individual equine disciplines & pursuits. A large proportion of the business services the Thoroughbred Racing & Breeding industry including clients such as Aspire Thoroughbreds, Cannon Hayes Stud, Emirates Park, Glenbeigh Farm, Kitchwin Hills, Lime Country Thoroughbreds, Ridgmont Farm & Yulong Investments. 

In addition to his dentistry qualifications, Shane has extensive experience as a horseman & spent many years breaking in, pre-training & conducting equine education for the Thoroughbred Racing Industry under his own banner ‘Stenhouse Thoroughbred Education’. Shane’s extensive horsemanship background (gained through years of working on cattle stations, undertaking dressage & riding instruction, working & running his own thoroughbred breaking in & pre-training outfits, breaking in & educating Quarter Horses at Stud in America, plus working as a groom/handler on international horse transport flights) compliments the dentistry business as Shane can fully appreciate the value of equine dental care based on the needs of the horse, its activities & uses coupled with & the needs of riders, owners & trainers in helping them achieve top performance in their desired equine pursuits.
